WOW. Very entertaining read, filled with all the usual fantasy highs and lows. The characters are interesting with varied motivations, but the whole fantasy genre trapping of "travel here, obtain object and/or meet new character, rest, travel elsewhere, repeat" gets tiresome. Really cool theological premises abound and look interesting for parts 2 and 3.4 stars out of 5
